May Farm Tobacco Barn

This farm has been in the May family for generations. It is one of the few farms that have maintained these remnants of the shade tobacco industry here in Gadsden county, Florida. This particular barn is one of my favorites because it is constructed very much like one of mine that was lost to Hurricane Kate. The long poles were to help support the barn in case of high winds. Hurricanes don't count!
