The Old Salt

This is a version of a portion of an earlier painting of this old mechanic as he works on a shrimp boat in Apalachicola, FL.

His hands and face tell so much about a life of hard work that is so common in an area where folks make their living from the sea. I wanted to try to capture this in a close up portion of the earlier work.
